Several years ago, when I first met the "other half" of Reading on the Range, I honestly didn't do a whole lot of reading for fun. I read textbooks and I read magazines, but I didn't read books.
Then, I was introduced to her bookshelves. They abounded with fabulous, wonderful, amazing books, and suddenly, every time I stopped by, I was borrowing. And she always had a mini-review of every book I plucked from the shelves.
A couple months ago, we decided to create a reading blog. Back in November, I set a goal to read 52 books in one year; I'm currently closing in on 32, with almost three months to go. As part of that goal, I wanted to write reviews of every book.
I've reviewed one.
So, we're giving it a shot. For September, I got to pick the book. I chose The Book of Salt. The author's most recent book was profiled in Oprah's magazine, and Salt got raving reviews, so I checked it out on Amazon.I'm waiting for the local library to get this for me on inter-library loan. In the meantime, I'm finishing up a couple of other books. (I'll be sure to let you in on those when I'm finished.)
Can't wait to read with you!
